Whitgift School is committed to developing flexible and personalised learning for pupils. One of the many ways of achieving this is through an innovative use of ICT.

The Whitgift Gateway
This is a web-based gateway into the school's management information system (MIS) that can be used by teachers and pupils to find the information they need quickly and easily from any computer connected to the internet. In due course this facility will be made available to parents of boys in the school:

The Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
The Whitgift Gateway links to the School’s VLE, giving pupils a single point from which to access their coursework, learning goals and assessment results. The VLE is also a powerful communication tool and includes the following facilities for developing personalised and collaborative learning :- internal messaging system, e-mail, SMS notifications, discussion forums, process oriented writing tools, notice boards, and newsgroups.
The platform also provides support for "Portfolio Assessment" methods as well as functionality for following up individuals and individual reflection.

The Gateway and, through it, the VLE provides an exciting new resource both for providing information about the School and for developing learning within the School. Pupils, parents and staff will be able to share information to assist with each pupil’s learning development, thus providing a flexible and personalised learning experience.

The School Website
The School Website remains a direct method of obtaining specific information about Whitgift School. The website links directly to the Gateway so that, in due course, parents will be able to access the Website and Gateway through one point of contact.

Whitgift Sports
This page provides links to Sport news, fixtures and results.
The “Way to go”  feature provides details of how to travel to away venues.

Whitgift Archive
This developing site provides opportunities to access some of the material contained in the rich archive of Whitgift School’s past and present.
Pages such as ‘Whitgift at War’ enable an interactive engagement with the schools history.

Whitgift Careers
The Careers part of this site provides details of the advice and information that is available to pupils and parents.
The Personal, Social and Health Education section describes the range of activities the School provides in support of this aspect of pupil personal development.
