On the 24 November, 2011 Fairfield Hall hosted Whitgift’s traditional Autumn Collection Concert which was a great success and enjoyed by all.  The concert demonstrated the impressive range of Whitgift talent and was a good opportunity for the parents of the First Form Choir to see them perform for the first time.

The start of the concert programme featured the highly talented Whitgift Brass Ensemble, the Whitgift String Orchestra and the Whitgift Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ms Lorraine Temple, Mr Philip Winter and Mrs Rosanna Whitfield respectively. The Whitgift First Form Choir and the Elmhurst School Senior Choir, accompanied by the Disney Trio, showed how hard they had been practising all term with their highly enjoyable Disney Medley.

After the interval Whitgift’s Corp of Drums gave a powerful performance, part of it in the dark with their luminescent drumsticks captivating the audience. Mr Iain McGregor then conducted The Whitgift Symphony Orchestra playing the Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikovsky.

The evening came to a close with Mr Alan Weakley conducting the Whitgift Chamber Choir, Senior Choir, Choral Society and Croydon High School Senior Choir singing the uplifting Feel the Spirit.
