Mark Collard, a Lower Sixth Form pupil at Whitgift (pictured), has been awarded a prestigious RAF Gliding Scholarship. These scholarships are nationally sought after and Mark is delighted that he will win his ‘Gliding Wings’ on successful completion of the course.  The RAF organises the course which takes place at RAF Abingdon in Oxfordshire. Mark is an NCO in the RAF Section of Whitgift’s Combined Cadet Force and is interested in an RAF career. His success follows on from fellow pupil, Lawrence Sutton, winning an RAF Sixth Form Scholarship. Incidentally, Mark was also part of the winning U18 team at the National Schools Indoor Hockey Championship at the weekend.  A great start to the year for Mark.
