The Year 7 pupil took part in a number of competitions, one of the highlights being the Etoile d'Or, in Les Houches, France, in March. This is a tournament for U10, U12 and U14 year olds and sees around 1,000 children competing. Augustin came 27th in his first race (out of 170 boys), and came 6th in the final Slalom, out of 150 boys. Later that month he also took part in the Coq d'Or Ski Open championship, in Les Menuires. This contest is the ultimate competing level in France and sees over 1,500 participate in the U12 and U14 categories.
Augustin ended the season in the top 50 nationally in France (this includes all the children who are already in ski academies and who ski over four days a week). He also came in the top 20 in the British National Championships, in Tignes. This is the highlight of the British ski calendar, attracting all top British skiers nationally, with over 500 entries in total. He came 24th across all junior categories - 18th in the U12 Combo and 19th in the U12 Giant Slalom.
Augustin is now well into the indoor season. The first British national competition is next week, in the Netherlands. Whitgift wishes him the best of luck.
