Your Guide to Whitgift's Academy of Visual and Performing Arts

Welcome to WAVPA

Are you passionate about acting, dancing and singing?

Would you like the opportunity to develop your skills and talent in the Performing Arts? Are you interested in joining an exciting Saturday arts programme run by industry professionals?

Then the Whitgift Academy of Visual and Performing Arts (WAVPA) is just for you.

Launched in September 2014,  WAVPA offers Drama, Dance and Musical Theatre training to boys and girls aged 8 – 18, from Croydon and the surrounding areas.

The course runs every Saturday during term time, and is led by industry professionals; experienced teachers, actors and dancers who have appeared frequently in West End theatre, on television and in film.

We welcome new members throughout the year so please get in touch.

WAVPA in Action

Performing Arts News

I was part of the original pilot of WAVPA, continuing until my graduation from Whitgift. WAVPA provided an excellent foundation for singing, acting and dancing. I have continued pursuing this passion throughout my university days, performing lead roles and/or lead vocals in a number of productions and concerts in a West End theatre. I have gone to write, record and produce my own music. WAVPA gave me the confidence to follow my dreams. I am still in touch with the great friends I made there. What a great way to spend a Saturday!
