How to Apply

STEP 1: Online Application Form

Please complete the Online Application Form. You will need to upload the following documents to complete your application so please make sure you have them read:

  • A scanned copy of your own and your guardian's passport
  • A recent, high-quality headshot, which will be used for the competition programme, if successful

You will then be asked to provide a YouTube link (or Youku if in China) to a recent performance of two contrasting pieces. This should last no more than 8 minutes (live and unedited) and should contain your name, country and 'WIMC 2019' as the video title, with the name of the pieces and composers as the video description.

For example:

Title: John Smith UK WIMC 2019
Description: Mozart Violin Concerto No. 1, Sarasate Zigeunerweisen

The deadline for the Online Application Form is 1 December 2018.


STEP 2: Supporting Documents

Both of the below must be submitted before 7 January 2019, or your application will be invalid.

  • A Programme Submission Form, listing details of your proposed programme for the semi-final and final - this should be completed online using the link below
  • A Music Teacher's Reference Form can be downloaded using the link below and must be submitted separately via email by your teacher/referee to
