Whitgift School, in common with many other leading Independent Schools, chooses not to appear in School “league tables”. However, there are occasions when a selection of Whitgift’s examination results are extracted from Government statistics and published in the press. This rarely reflects the all-round academic achievement of our pupils. We pride ourselves on a tailor-made curriculum which leads to boys taking a great variety of Public Exams at different times, to be determined by educational principles not by expedience. Some of these exams are not recognised by certain national measures. In other instances boys take exams early or, in a small minority of cases, are out of their normal year group. These factors can skew considerably the overall picture of the School’s results.
