Co-Curricular: Bronze (14+ years old)
Updated: Thu 18 Apr 2013
With a maximum of 120 boys in Year 9 invited to join the award, boys are allocated leaders who help guide the boys through the year. Boys undertake activities for a maximum of 6 months and must keep an accurate log of their progress. DofE and CCF are highly linked during the Bronze phase. Their weekly CCF sessions count as their volunteering activity and their practice expedition takes place on an Easter Camp.
The culmination of the Bronze award is a 2 day expedition in the Surrey Hills south of Dorking. Here, boys get to utilise the campcraft and navigation skills that they have been taught during year.
