Remembering 1916 Concert

In celebration of Whitgift’s major First World War exhibition, Remembering 1916 – Life on the Western Front, the Whitgift Chamber Orchestra will perform a nostalgic programme of wartime music. The first half will include a haunting Edward Elgar cello concerto, written in remembrance of the events of the First World War, as well as the poignant Rhapsody on a Shropshire Lad, by George Butterworth.
For the second half, prepare to be transported back to a London Music Hall for a selection of popular songs of the day, with special guests Simon Lane, pianist, and Patricia Hammond, mezzo-soprano.
Please note that no paper tickets are being issued, a ticklist system will be in operation, on the door.
N.B This performance is not suitable for babies, or children under the age of seven. Children under this age will not be permitted into the auditorium.
