The Lower School has a tradition of outstanding attainment in academic work, drama, etc. In sport, Whitgift boys have gained a strong reputation for the exceptional standards they achieve, having won a series of major national cup competitions.
On joining at age 10 or 11, boys are fully integrated into the main school and use all its facilities, but they also enjoy the benefit of having an attractive, modern, purpose-built classroom block as their base with its own library, study area and computer facilities. This enables an ideal transition from the more intimate environment of a primary or preparatory school to the larger community at senior school level.
