A broad curriculum is followed in a two-year programme for GCSE examinations and boys reach very high levels of attainment. Whitgift regularly appears in 'league tables' in the top ten or twenty schools nationally but there is a strong emphasis on an all-round education for life. Boys and their parents are given careful guidance on subject choices to ensure a successful transfer into the Sixth Form; this is the usual path for all boys who have met a specific standard at GCSE and have shown themselves capable of tackling a demanding programme of A level work within the Sixth Form environment.
