The School Grounds
Whitgift enjoys a beautiful parkland site, once the home of Lord Howard of Effingham, Admiral of the Fleet sent against the Armada in 1588. There have been peacocks at Whitgift since the move to Haling Park in the 1930's. They have been joined by white peafowl, Crowned and Demoiselle Cranes and a variety of African and Asian species.
In the summer, Whitgift welcomed a pair of Prevost’s Squirrels to the squirrel enclosure in the Andrew Quadrangle.
