In 1596, John Whitgift, Archbishop of Canterbury (1583 to 1604) decided to fulfill his vision to educate the children of South Croydon. He then founded what is today, Whitgift School.

Junior Years 10-13

The beginning of a Whitgiftians journey is in the Junior Years - a time where natural curiosity and independent learning are encouraged to grow and students are exposed to a wealth of new ideas, activities and learning opportunities.

Middle Years 13-16

Alongside equipping them for academic success, the Middle Years at Whitgift will support students to mature emotionally, helping them to develop a strong sense of who they are and what they want to accomplish.

Sixth Form 16+

Students in Whitgift’s Sixth Form are immersed in a challenging yet hugely rewarding experience, with inspiring tutors who support them as they prepare for their chosen path after Whitgift.
