Whitgift are delighted to welcome back Mr Ashley Jackson; after training the boys last year during the Michaelmas and Lent terms, he is joining the coaching team for 2018/19. Mr Jackson is England and Great Britain’s all-time leading goal scorer, and three-time Olympian (Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016). He is currently playing professionally in Holland for the Dutch Premier League, the Hoofdklasse, attracting the best players in international hockey and presently is the league’s leading goal scorer going into the winter break with 12 goals from 11 games.
Mr Jackson stated, “I am excited to be back and involved at Whitgift. The boys have access to an incredible environment and I look forward to working with such talented and enthusiastic players once again.” He joins the highly experienced coaching team, including National League all-time goal scorer, Mr Tim Davenport (300 Goals) and his brother Mr Wesley Jackson. Dr Karl Stagno, Director for Hockey said, “Mr Jackson joins Whitgift’s ever growing and successful hockey programme and will enable our boys to become inspired by and learn from one of the world’s best. He will give a perspective unlike any other on the pitch and we look forward to the coming weeks as we welcome such a memorable opportunity.”
