• Oxford German Olympiad - students across year groups are encouraged in the Lent term to enter the national competition that offers students a chance to creatively express themselves in German, be that written or filmed
• Stephen Spender Translation Prize - top-end linguists enter this national competition in the Trinity term each year
• Second Form students can take part in an exchange with a school in Nuremberg and Third Form students can take part in an exchange with a school in Munich. Both exchanges have been running for more than 20 years.

• The History and Politics Society meets every Friday lunchtime with talks by boys, staff, and outside guests. Linked to this, the department also hosts a History Festival, running every other year, with guests in 2023 including Dominic Sandbrook, Adam Smith, and Edward Shawcross.
• Pravda, the History and Politics magazine, publishes two new issues per academic year. Contributions come from all years in the school!
• The department also runs a Fifth Form trip to Berlin that ties in very well with topics studied throughout the IGCSE History course, and a Sixth Form trip to New York and Washington DC every two years.
• We encourages political debate through societies such as the Debating Society, and the department also runs a mock general election and hustings to mirror those taking place in the country.

• A bespoke curriculum designed to marry together the values and lessons related to Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education with critical thinking, fundamental life skills, career reflection and the issues of wellbeing and personal development.
