Ideatum

AIMS

Ideatum is a bespoke curriculum seamlessly integrating essential elements of Personal, Social, Health, and Economic (PSHE) education with critical thinking, fundamental life skills, and a focus on wellbeing and personal development. This bespoke program is designed to provide students with a well-rounded education that not only addresses academic content but also fosters growth in interpersonal skills, social competencies, and personal reflection. By connecting with various subject areas, Ideatum helps students develop the qualities, attitudes, and skills necessary for a fulfilling and responsible life.

The primary aim of Ideatum is to equip students with the tools and understanding needed for their personal development and wellbeing. The programme supports students in navigating relationships, making informed decisions, and engaging in critical thinking. It emphasises the importance of being independent thinkers who can collaborate respectfully and address challenging situations with confidence. By focusing on responsible participation and emotional intelligence, Ideatum prepares students to contribute positively to society and to manage their own health and wellbeing effectively.

ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Ideatum's curriculum is structured around six central topics: Relationships with Myself and Others, The Digital and Online Worlds, Healthy Lifestyles and Life Choices, Relationships Education / Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), Mental Health and Wellbeing, and My Place Within the World: Core Social Issues. These topics ensure a broad and balanced approach, tailored to the developmental stages and experiences of students.

Outside the classroom, Ideatum offers a growing range of enrichment activities, including collaborations with organisations such as Humanutopia, Wear Your Money Crown, and It Happens Education. These initiatives enhance the programme by addressing the specific needs of students and providing practical experiences that reinforce classroom learning. For Lower First through Lower Sixth Form students, Ideatum is a weekly timetabled subject, while Upper Sixth Form students participate in fortnightly sessions with their Tutors, strengthening their support networks as they prepare for life beyond Whitgift. This holistic approach ensures that all students benefit from Ideatum's focus on developing well-rounded, thoughtful, and capable individuals.
