OW receives Prince Phillip Scholarship Award to attend Cambridge

Old Whitgiftian, Isaac Fung has been awarded the Prince Phillip Scholarship for his undergraduate studies at the University of Cambridge.

Isaac joined Whitgift from an international school in Hong Kong at the age of 13, keen to try boarding in England. He was attracted to the School’s strong reputation and beautiful grounds. He commented, “I was lucky to have had a really great History teacher who pushed me towards applying for Cambridge.”

Impressed with the ‘extensive guidance on Oxbridge admissions’ he received from Whitgift, Isaac said he was grateful and that the ‘Scholarship’s help and generosity,’ would allow him to pursue his academic dream of studying History. Isaac praised the School’s History department by stating that “Whitgift greatly supported the application process and made sure I kept in touch with OWs at Cambridge and arranged meetings so that I could discuss how to successfully apply.”

Happy to support any prospective Oxbridge candidates from Whitgift, Isaac encourages everyone to consider applying and hopes to see many more Whitgift boys at Cambridge in the future.
