To celebrate and mark the 425th Anniversary of the John Whitgift Foundation, students were invited to design a piece of artwork within a theme of ‘Celebrating our past and looking to the future’. The artwork could be drawn or digital in format and designed to featured on the wall of the Fountain Quad.
The winning design was chosen by the Headmaster and Senior Deputy from over 50 entries from form groups across the School. There was an exceptionally high quality of entries showing enormous creativity of expression.
Congratulations to the winner, Dylan Mulvey (Second Form), who was chosen for his inventive interpretation of the brief, creating two individual pieces for the ‘past’ and ‘future’ as a diptych. His artwork has been printed on two large, brushed silver panels, and is proudly displayed on the wall next to the fountain.
Well done to joint runner-up winners, Fourth Form students Jake Morrice and Dylan Morris, who were both also awarded for their creative designs. Thank you also to everyone who entered the competition; it was fantastic to see how each of the students interpreted and explained their concepts and designs.
