Old Whitgiftian and former Head of the British Army, General Sir Peter Wall, returned to Whitgift to deliver the annual Whitgift For All Lecture, titled "Geopolitics in a Fast-Moving World: Is the Global Order Crumbling?"
With over 250 guests in attendance, including parents, students, and fellow alumni, Sir Peter’s talk captivated the Whitgift Community. Drawing on his extensive military and strategic leadership experience, he offered timely and thought-provoking insights into the shifting dynamics of global politics.
Earlier in the day, Sir Peter toured the School and joined a Q&A with students in the Old Library. Reflecting on his time at Whitgift, he credited the CCF and his love of sport as the formative experiences that inspired his military career.
The evening raised nearly £4,000 for the Whitgift For All Bursary Fund, with £5 from each ticket donated to Sir Peter’s chosen cause — Kojak Children’s School in Nepal.
We are enormously grateful to Sir Peter for sharing his wisdom and experiences, and for his continued commitment to Whitgift’s mission of supporting young people through transformative education.
