An evening with Sir Anthony Seldon

Over 250 parents, alumni and students joined Sir Anthony Seldon in March 2024 for a reception followed by a highly engaging talk entitled ‘Why did Liz Truss fail? Will Keir Starmer suffer the same fate?.’

Sir Anthony started his teaching career at Whitgift as Head of Politics. He came to national prominence as a thinker on education as Head of Brighton College and then Master of Wellington College. He is currently Head of Epsom College.

As a leading contemporary historian, political author and honorary historical adviser to 10 Downing Street, Sir Anthony gave a fascinating insight on the attributes he considers key to being a successful Prime Minister, drawing on examples from the early twentieth century to the modern day.

Sir Anthony was delighted to return to the School and was particularly pleased to see many Old Whitgiftians in the audience whom he had taught at Whitgift. All proceeds from this event will support the Whitgift For All bursary fund.
