An exciting update from Lego & Technic Club

As part of the Lego & Technic Club, students have been steadily working on the ambitious Millennium Falcon Lego set. The project has provided a fun and collaborative environment, allowing students to develop essential skills such as problem-solving, concentration, and communication.

Arjun (Second Form) reflected on the progress made “We started the Millennium Falcon at the end of Lower First Form, which is around three years ago now. Initially, we worked on it once a week, but now in Second Form, we’ve been building every day and should have it finished this week!”

Cameron (Second Form) added “This is the biggest Lego set the School has with a fully furnished interior and 7,500 pieces!”

Mr Seal (Head of Design and Technology) commented “Lego & Technic club inspires students to get creative and build amazing sets. We have over 30 sets for students to choose from and they regularly display their build in the DTE department. It is a welcoming space for pupils to relax and focus on wellbeing whilst enjoying the camaraderie of fellow Lego enthusiasts.

Whitgift always looks to stretch our students and the iconic Millennium Falcon with over 7,500 pieces was deemed a suitable challenge for our most able builders.”

The Lego & Technic Club continues to offer students an engaging way to enhance their skills while working on exciting projects. Stay tuned to see what they’ll tackle next!
