It’s been an exceptional week for Whitgift’s U13 golf duo, Gary and Charlie, who continue to make their mark on the national stage.
Following a strong 3rd place finish at the Independent Schools Golf Association (ISGA) Junior League Finals earlier this week at Radley College, the boys returned to action yesterday at the ISGA Junior Open 2025 held at Drayton Park, Oxfordshire – with even more success.
Charlie delivered a superb individual round to secure 2nd place with 64 points, while Gary followed closely behind in 4th place, scoring 60 points. Together, their consistent performance saw Whitgift clinch 1st place in the team competition, triumphing over Millfield Prep by an impressive seven points.
Both competitions were played off scratch in a modified Stableford format, effectively placing all competitors on a level footing with a handicap of 36, which made the boys’ composure, talent, and teamwork all the more impressive. Representing Whitgift with pride and determination, Gary and Charlie have set a shining example of sportsmanship and perseverance.
These back-to-back achievements reflect the strength of Whitgift’s Golf programme and hint at a bright future ahead. Congratulations to both boys on a remarkable week!
