Whitgift’s 1st XI have been crowned England Hockey U18 Tier 1 National Champions after a superb 4-2 victory over Repton in the Final. The boys delivered an outstanding performance, showing resilience and skill to secure the title.
Goals from Tom M and Oliver B from penalty corners set Whitgift on track, before Rhys Harmer sealed the win with two late field goals.
Their path to the Final included a dominant 8-1 win over Taunton School in the Semi Finals at Lee Valley on March 12th.
Dr Stagno (Director of Hockey) praised the team’s success: “A remarkable achievement for these boys! Winning both the Indoor and Outdoor titles is always special – the boys have been so diligent with their training and have worked so hard! I am so proud of them.”
This victory cements Whitgift’s status as a powerhouse in school hockey, with the team’s commitment and determination shining through in a memorable season. Congratulations to all involved!
