Whitgift School GCSE Success 2025

Andrew Quadrangle

Whitgift’s Fifth Form students collected their GCSE results this morning and have every reason to be immensely proud. 42% of grades were awarded at 9 and 69% at 8 or 9. From this year’s cohort, 18 students achieved grade 9s across all their subjects, while 35 attained at least nine GCSEs at grade 9.

The hard work, dedication and resilience demonstrated by the students over the past two years have culminated in an impressive set of results, with many achieving top grades across a diverse range of subjects.

These results reflect more than academic excellence; they are the culmination of each student’s commitment to all areas of Whitgift life - from sport and music to leadership and community service. They also highlight the invaluable support of families and staff throughout the GCSE journey. We look forward to seeing the talent, energy and ambition they will bring to the Sixth Form.

A note from the Headmaster to all GCSE students

We are delighted for – and proud of – all our students, their families, and our colleagues here at Whitgift. These results are a testament to the dedication and determination of our Fifth Form cohort, who have performed brilliantly across the board whilst also contributing richly to so many areas of school and community life.

The dual excitement of receiving such excellent GCSE grades and the energising prospect of two final years of study represents a special moment for all our students. These young men are now in a wonderful position to take full advantage of the opportunities that await them in the Sixth Form and beyond. We offer our huge congratulations to all the students for these tremendous achievements and thanks go to colleagues for their expertise in supporting and challenging the boys.
