GCSE students returned to Haling Park to collect their results and celebrate their achievements after what has been a uniquely challenging 18 months in education.
Their hard work and commitment was rewarded with 93% of grades being at 7,8 or 9 (equivalent to the old A/A*). Just over 50% of grades awarded were a 9. The grades were robustly and carefully calculated and reflect the work that both the students have put in, and the members of staff who have ensured that they are well supported throughout their GCSE courses.
Chris Ramsey, Headmaster of Whitgift commented, “We are extremely proud of these students who have shown great attitude and resilience when faced with the changes to their learning that were thrust upon them last year. Their adaptability, and that of their teachers, has been reflected in the results we see today. We look forward to supporting many of them as they move on to their Sixth Form careers at Whitgift.”
The Headmaster and staff warmly congratulate the students on their efforts which have led to success – we are all very proud of them.
