House Music 2026 Hits All the Right Notes

This year’s House Music Competition was another resounding success! Our guest adjudicator, Mr Liam Connery (Musician and Music Producer), joined by Mr Morrison (Assistant Director of Music) and Mrs Blake (PA to the Senior Deputy), had the challenging task of ranking an evening full of outstanding performances. 

All eight Houses embraced the competition, presenting a soloist followed by an ensemble! 

Mr Connery awarded the highest praise to Mason’s, with special mention to Zachary (Fifth Former), whose rendition of The Woven Web by Animals As Leaders was described as “exceptionally energetic and impeccably controlled”. Mason’s large ensemble also impressed with their performance of Where Is My Husband? by RAYE, featuring 14 enthusiastic musicians, well done! 

The results were as follows: 

• 1st place: Mason’s 

• 2nd place: Cross’s 

• 3rd place: Smith’s 

• 4th place: Brodie’s
