37 point average in International Baccalaureate Diploma

Students receiving their IB results

South Croydon: Whitgift is pleased to announce that this year’s International Baccalaureate (IB) students have achieved an average score of 37 points out of 45. Nearly 50 students formed part of the 2024 IB cohort, making this the second largest group opting for the qualification since the IB began being offered alongside A Levels in Whitgift’s Sixth Form.

Edmund White (Director of the International Baccalaureate) said: “This year’s students have demonstrated dedication to their International Baccalaureate (IB) studies despite some incredibly challenging pastoral circumstances. They’ve engaged with a diverse range of academic subjects while also focusing on personal development and growth over the past two years. I am delighted that our 100% pass rate continues, and it’s impressive that 14 of the cohort scored 40 points or more.

“As they move forward to their chosen higher education institutions, including prestigious universities like Oxford, Edinburgh, LSE, Cambridge, and KCL, I wish them the very best in their future endeavours.”
