At Whitgift, the House system is integral to school life, fostering team spirit and camaraderie as students compete for the coveted House Cup.
Junior House Sports Day
June 2024 saw the Junior House Sports Day unfold on South Field. The weather was kind and allowed Lower First and First Form students to gather for a range of track and field events. Their families and staff were on the sideline to support each House and the individual competitors.
From sprints and long-distance races to relays, hurdles, long and high jumps, javelin, discus, and more, the day was packed with energy and enthusiasm as the School’s youngest members competed in a variety of athletic challenges.
Well done to all the students who took part, both on the field and cheering from the sidelines. A special congratulations to Teak House, under the leadership of Mrs Blauw (Teacher of Mathematics), for winning the Junior House Cup.
Second Form Sports Day
The Second Form Sports Day was marked by spirited competition and teamwork, with students showcasing their athletic skills and representing their Houses with passion.
Congratulations to Brodie’s House, led by Mr Morris (Teacher of Modern Languages), for their impressive win of the House Cup.
Both afternoons were a true celebration of challenge, integrity, support, and celebration. A big thank you to Mr Webb (Head of Athletics) for his organisation of these memorable events.
