The Junior and Middle Years' production of A Tale of Two Cities

The Junior and Middle Years' production of A Tale of Two Cities

For three nights in June 2024, the final Drama production of the 2023-24 academic year showcased the talents of over 50 Junior and Middle Years performers in a memorable rendition of A Tale of Two Cities.

The play, adapted from Charles Dickens' novel, centres on Dr Manette, portrayed by Danny Montgomery (Third Form), who endures an 18-year imprisonment in the Bastille and later reunites with his daughter, Lucie Manette, played by Milo Lamond (Second Form). Their story unfolds against the turbulent backdrop of the French Revolution and the Reign of Terror.

Mr Hammond (Director of Drama) explained “Not many schools would attempt this vivid but sprawling adaptation of this beloved historical novel with a huge cast of Junior performers, but this group pulled it off with real verve and aplomb.”

Special thanks go to the AV team for their exceptional work in managing the staging, lighting, and special effects, as well as to the dedicated backstage crew. Finally, huge thanks go to Mr Hammond for staging this epic production.
