Fourth Form Students Discover Canterbury's Roman Heritage

A group of people walks across a grassy field toward ancient stone ruins and a wooden structure under a clear blue sky.

Fourth Form Latin students enjoyed an insightful day out to Canterbury, Kent on the final Friday of the School year!

They visited Richborough Roman Fort and Amphitheatre, the site where the Romans first landed in Britain in AD 43. Students also enjoyed a riverside walk along the River Stour before visiting the Canterbury Roman Museum, where they explored the remains of an original Roman townhouse and one of the UK's only surviving in situ Roman pavement mosaics, both designated Scheduled Ancient Monuments. The museum's stunning mosaics and faithful recreations of Roman life brought history vividly to life.

Fourth Form pupil Arthur K commented: "It was a brilliant trip, immensely fun and very enriching!"
