Whitgift Named U18 Tier 1 National Champions for Fourth Year Running

Whitgift’s 1st XI have been crowned England Hockey U18 Tier 1 National Champions after an exceptional 4-1 victory over St George’s Weybridge in the Final at Lee Valley. The team worked tirelessly throughout, displaying resilience and determination to secure the title. 

Their path to the Final included a dominant 4-0 win over Peter Symonds College in the Semi Finals on March 11. 

Mr Litchfield (Director of Sport) praised the team’s success, “To win the Tier 1 National Finals for a fourth consecutive year is an extraordinary achievement - one no school has ever accomplished before. This group’s success is a testament to their meticulous preparation, unwavering resilience, and the countless hours of training they have invested over the past year. Battling through tough conditions, they showed exactly why they are the best in the country. Dr Stagno (Director of Hockey) should be exceptionally proud; his tireless work with this team has been instrumental in shaping a truly historic legacy.” 

The 1st XI team also claimed the Boys ISHC U19 Cup Competition in Nottingham, securing the title for the third consecutive year after a superb 4–1 victory over Repton in the final. Congratulations to the players and coaches on this memorable accomplishment!
