On Friday 29 April, the London Mozart Players performed side-by-side with choirs and young players from Whitgift, Trinity and Old Palace of John Whitgift Schools. The program included Butterworth - Banks of Green Willow, Britten - Simple Symphony, Vaughan Williams - Lark Ascending and Jenkins - Armed Man (A Mass for Peace).
Overseen by Director of Orchestral Music, Mr Winter, 44 students from Lower First Form to Lower Sixth Form took part in the concert; the second time this year that Whitgift’s musicians have performed at this iconic venue following the Autumn Collection Concert in November.
All Whitgift’s singers and string players who took part in the concert excelled in their performance. The singers, alongside singers from Trinity and Old Palace School combined to fill the Fairfield Hall with a choir of outstanding confidence. Our senior string players sat side-by-side with members of the London Mozart Players and were superb in their professionalism as they fitted seamlessly with the professional players.
