Celebrating World Book Day

World Book Day - Kathryn Evans

Kathryn is an award-winning author of young adult novels and an experienced speaker for schools and festivals. She’s won multiple awards including the Edinburgh International Book Festival First Book Award, the SCBWI Crystal Kite, and the CrimeFest Award. Nominated for the Carnegie medal, her books have also been translated into multiple languages and optioned for a film yet still, her greatest accolade is going viral on TikTok.

It was a pleasure to welcome Kathryn on-site for World Book Day and all the students thoroughly enjoyed listening to her assemblies and discussions on Reading and Resilience.

Many students were presented with the opportunity to participate in one of three creative writing sessions with Kathryn and to close the busy afternoon, students gathered in the library for an autograph signing session.

Whitgift is extremely grateful that Kathryn could join us to celebrate this annual event.
