The House
Opened in 2013, Founder’s House is a modern and forward-looking home to over 100 boarders. With amenities from individual bathrooms to a purpose-built common room, it provides the stable foundation from which boarders can achieve their full potential at Whitgift.

Founder's House
Founder's House is situated in the heart of Whitgift's forty-three acres grounds. Boarders enjoy unrivalled access to the school's facilities after the school day and on weekends to build up their cardio, perfect their swing, practise their scales, and much more.

The Common Room
Refurbished over Easter 2025, the Common Room is where boarders gather to unwind, relax, and socialise. The space is used for communal cooking, movie nights, our annual pop-up coffee shop, and more.

The Common Room (Study Area)
A wing of the Common Room features workspaces where boarders can study together. This is particularly useful for those staying in the house during study leave, or boarders working on group projects.

The Games Room
The Games Room is home to competitive table tennis and pool players, along with (weekend) video gamers. It leads onto a patio area where games of kubb, spike ball, football and more are played.

The Reception
From snacks to laundry to emotional support, the Reception is the hub of Founder's House. The base of the House Team and the on-duty Housemaster, it is staffed around-the-clock to offer boarders the support they need.

Bedroom
Boarders are assigned to rooms of two or three in Founder's House. Each boarder will have their own bed, wardrobe, drawer, and table. Room changes occur every term to help boarders get to know their year group and adapt to living with others.

Ensuite Bathroom
Each room has its own ensuite bathroom and shower space. All living spaces are cleaned daily during the school day. Maintenance issues are included in each day's duty report and fixed in good time.
