Royal Air Force Section

The RAF section, consisting of approximately 75 cadets from the Third Form to the Upper Sixth Form, ranks as the second largest division within the CCF. Cadets delve into the principles of flight and air navigation, practicing their skills on state-of-the-art virtual reality flight simulators.

The primary goal is to provide cadets with ample airborne opportunities, whether as passengers in light aircraft or Chinook helicopters, mastering glider piloting at RAF Kenley, or participating in Air Experience Flights alongside experienced RAF pilots in a Grob Tutor at RAF Benson.

RAF cadets also partake in camps, collaborating with air cadet units nationwide in diverse training activities. Additionally, RAF cadets have the option to join the Army section for range days and field exercises. Exceptional cadets demonstrating an aptitude for flying may be eligible for prestigious flying scholarships.
