Community Summer School

200 pupils are invited to attend a week of free academic lessons and co-curricular activities during the summer holidays.

We were  delighted to welcome selected Year 5 pupils from local primary schools to Haling Park during the 2022 summer holidays, helping them to prepare  academically for their final year of primary school and to experience some of the facilities available at Whitgift.

It was a resounding success with so much value gained for the pupils, Sixth Form volunteers and teachers from all three John Whitgift Foundations Schools. Watch our video highlights to learn more.

I had the opportunity to volunteer for the whole two weeks of the Whitgift Community Summer School and I honestly enjoyed every moment of it.
The summer school provided the children with an opportunity to learn about new things and it was great to see them attempt and flourish at these subjects. For me personally, the Community Summer School has been a learning curve. It has taught me the importance of being patient, persistent and how to adapt to the environment or circumstances you may be placed in.
My two weeks volunteering has been insightful, and I would be proud to be part of such a tremendous programme in the future.
