Commissioned by St John’s College School, Cambridge, to celebrate its 25th anniversary, youth music theatre guru, Jeremy James Taylor, joined with the celebrated choral composer, John Rutter, to write and direct The Piper of Hamelin, a moving and beautiful 45-minute operatic treatment of the classic story. The Whitgift production will involve the entire Lower First Form, as rats! Other roles will be drawn from the Lower First and Upper First Forms only, representing a significant challenge and opportunity for our youngest performers. The performances will be directed by Mr Paul Wilson, Director of Music and Performing Arts, with Whitgift’s Organist and Director of Choral Music, Mr Ronny Krippner, as Musical Director.
