Student Hosts

Study with Whitgift and Old Palace Students

Learning with British students of a similar age greatly accelerates the learning process, makes it more meaningful and leads to long-lasting friendships.

We encourage our Summer School students to communicate in English throughout their stay. To help achieve this aim, we carefully select pupils from Whitgift School and our sister school, Old Palace of John Whitgift, to take part in all aspects of the Summer School. This way, our Summer School students have a truly British educational experience.

The majority of International students keep in touch with their new English friends, meaning the English language learning continues well beyond the summer.

When do student hosts take part?

Student hosts arrive at the School at lunchtime each day and take part in Progressive Skills in Action classes, afternoon activities/academies and evening activities as well as having lunch and dinner with Summer School guests.

"I have made friends from South Korea to Spain. Some of those friends I'm still in contact with, and others have actually come to visit me in London."
