Indian International School Partnership 

Whitgift School is in partnership with a reputable international school operator in India to support them with the launch of a brand new Kindergarten to Year 12 (K-12) school in Hyderabad, India. It is expected that further schools in India will follow this initial school in the longer-term. Whitgift is not responsible for the day-to-day running of the school, but will be involved in the following: 

• Quality Assurance 

• Curriculum support 

• Head Teacher and Key Staff Selection Support  

• School Guidelines, Policies and Procedures 

• School Building Design 

• Professional Development

• Branding 

This project is placed within the scope of the School’s 2025 Vision, which states our overall international aims as follows: 

1. Whitgift is an international brand, both in terms of pupil recruitment, experience and international expansion. 

2. Whitgift is committed to international expansion in order to become a genuinely global player, enhancing our own pupils’ experiences and pool of boarders, and making a financial contribution to the school. 

3. The school has a truly global reach and reputation. 

International links, such as this one, provide opportunities for our school community through collaborative projects, exchanges, and links. Involvement in these projects assist our school in becoming a beacon of diversity with global citizenship at the heart of its curriculum. We aspire to be a school which educates boys who champion the concept of a global village, are at ease with other cultures, embrace language learning, and develop international connections. 

We expect this to be a long-lasting, impactful and sustainable partnership which also enables a sizeable contribution to the ‘Whitgift for All’ bursary fund. 

The surplus provided by this project will be used to help fund the School’s bursary scheme, which will provide additional life changing bursaries for pupils at the school whose families would otherwise be unable to afford school fees. The provision of these bursaries correspond to the original intentions of our founder, John Whitgift, and will benefit our whole School community by enhancing academic and wider curricular standards and continuing to make us a more socially cohesive and inclusive community.  

Absolutely not! This project will be managed by the growing International Office at Whitgift, which also manages the International Summer School. It will provide great benefits to staff and pupils alike, and make a positive impact on the educational provision at Whitgift through mutual learning opportunities.
