The last few months have seen a boom in technology making lives easier - for many people it has forced them to be creative with how they interact with others, shop for basic needs and stay in contact with loved ones. For many elderly people this has been more challenging since they might not have the know-how to use the latest technology or someone to help them set it up.

My challenge for you is this: Please design a piece of technology that will make life easier in some way for an elderly person. It could help them shop online, keep them safe, take the difficulty out of a task and/or stay connected to their family and friends. All you need is:

  1. An idea that would make an elderly person's life easier.
  2. A design to make this idea a practical reality. Do not assume the elderly to be incapable - instead, focus on maximising the accessibility and usability of the design.
