Whitgift's Easter International Baccalaureate Revision Course

We are delighted to announce that bookings for Whitgift's Easter IB Revision programme are now open!

The course, which will take place between Sunday 03 April - Saturday 09 April 2022, is open for students from the UK and around the world who are in their final year of the diploma and will be taking their exams in May 2022. Students can either stay in our boarding house for the week, or, if based in London or the local area, simply attend lessons during the day as a non-residential student.

Now, it may be the beginning of a new academic year, but if you are a final year IBDP student, you might already have one eye on your final exams. With this in mind, what can IB students who are thinking about attending an IB revision course expect on Whitgift's IB revision programme?

Our belief
Firstly, we know the challenges that you – the IB Learner - face when studying for the diploma: from CAS to TOK, tests and coursework, there is a lot going on. It is for this reason that we go ‘back to basics’ with your two subject choices, a process that begins even before you have arrived at the school.  We ask you to send us your Higher/Standard Level details along with recent mock results and target results for the two subjects you wish to study with us at Whitgift. By doing this, we believe we can prepare a customized course that will guarantee you develop and progress at a rate that is appropriate to support your learning.

Your week-long revision course will commence with a diagnostic activity to look at your current knowledge and see how well prepared you are for the exam. We consider this test as a good way to expose areas that need improvement, and also to highlight where you excel. As the week progresses, our experienced IB teachers will provide you with techniques and materials to help you remember factual material, and ideas will be explored in the classroom with a detailed focus on how to employ them come exam day. Finally, at the end of the week, you will complete a final assessment so that you can trace the path you have taken during your time with us at Whitgift and receive personalised advice on what to focus on during independent study.

Furthermore, Whitgift is a school that is very aware - and has been throughout its 400-year history - of the challenges students face. In today’s context this relates to rapid social change, cultural diversity and the realities of living in an ever-changing (and globalised) world.
