Hello! My name is Claire and I’m excited to join the Whitgift team this summer as an English teacher!
A bit about me
I’m originally from London (not too far from Whitgift in fact!) but I now live and work in Spain, where I’ve been for seven years. When I’m not teaching English to my students here, I’m normally off exploring a new town, going for a walk in the countryside, or playing board games with friends!
Why I love teaching English as a foreign language
I’ve always had a love of languages and working with young people, so after studying Russian and Spanish at university, I realised that teaching would be the perfect combination of all these things! I’ve since trained in English language teaching and as a secondary school teacher and have worked with students of all ages and levels in Spain, Ecuador, Russia and the UK and I’m excited to work with students from even more interesting places this summer! I love putting together lessons that will get my students motivated and excited to learn more and practise their English. I also find it helpful to draw on my own experience of learning languages – I’ve been there too!

I can’t wait to meet you all and see what you can do, and help you to progress even further in a safe and encouraging environment where we can all learn from each other’s unique experiences!
