Meet the team! Myah Singh, Activity Leader

My name is Myah and I am excited to be back at the summer school in 2022, this time as an Activity leader after being a Student Host for many years.

My interests include dance and I am looking forward to running the dance multi-activity during the summer school
I am currently on a gap year and look forward to attending university in September to study Economics. This year I have been attending dance classes in a variety of styles including Commercial, Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet and Tap. I really enjoy expressing myself through dance and choreographing in my spare time and I look forward to potentially sharing this with some of the students.

Experience working and volunteering with international students who are learning English
I have worked with children before at a holiday camp where I lead multiple activities including an Olympics, Dodgeball and Arts and Crafts sessions. I love working in educational contexts like Whitgift Summer School as it is a perfect example of how children can improve on skills but have fun at the same time. I enjoy getting to know the students and learning about what it is like to live in different countries. It is so rewarding to see the growth of these students in terms of their English skills and confidence and I can’t wait to facilitate this.

Getting excited about the summer activities we run at the summer school
I am most looking forward to leading house competitions such as capture the flag and the egg protector challenge as I love the healthy competition stimulated at summer school. It is amazing to see all of the students interact and get involved with those of all ages and backgrounds.

I look forward to seeing everyone’s faces this year, old and new!
