I’m delighted to be teaching at Whitgift Summer School again this year! This will be my fourth time joining the team and it’s always something I look forward to.
I’ve been working within education since 2012, in all manner of teaching environments, in the UK and across the world. I became a Cambridge Speaking Examiner a few years ago and since then have gone on to work as an English Language Assessor. I really enjoy working with students of all ages and levels, particularly in supportive environments, such as the one offered by Whitgift Summer School.
Whitigft Summer School thoroughly immerses students in the language and culture and offers fantastic excursions where students can apply what they have learned. The location of the school itself in south London is surrounded by exquisite grounds, which make it ideal for outdoor learning where students can engage with the environment.
As part of the course, students collaborate on projects alongside English speaking student hosts to refine and integrate their skills across reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This has contributed to students progressing in such a short time, and each year the teaching team brainstorm ideas to make the projects exciting and different each time.
With so many students returning year upon year, I am looking forward to seeing some familiar faces, and meeting some new ones too!
