Welcome back, Ryan Eastwood

My name is Ryan David Eastwood, and I have been fortunate to travel and work across different cultures, shaping my perspective on learning and personal growth. Born and raised in Great Britain, I left the UK to travel when I was 27 and have spent much of my life in multicultural environments, which naturally led me to a passion for languages, communication, and education. With a love for travel and cultural exchange, I’ve built my career around teaching and working with people from all walks of life. My experiences across South America and Europe have broadened my appreciation for different perspectives, and being bilingual in Spanish—while speaking some Bulgarian as well—has only strengthened my ability to connect with others.

Perhaps more importantly, a life filled with rich experiences has allowed me to maintain enthusiasm and appreciation for other cultures and communities. I truly believe that learning should be engaging, dynamic, and, above all, fun! As an academic tutor, I make it my mission to bring even the dullest of topics to life in an exciting and interactive way—while always ensuring that the key language points and skills remain at the heart of every lesson. This approach not only enhances motivation but also fosters a deeper connection to learning for everyone involved.

This philosophy is especially important during the Whitgift Summer School learning programme, where the environment is perfectly designed to inspire both personal and academic growth of people from many different countries and backgrounds. The opportunity to unleash one’s creative side through diverse activities helps students from all over the globe develop on multiple levels. Whether it’s stepping into the spotlight in a drama production, creating a project with others or offering critical analysis in a debate, these platforms provide endless opportunities for self-discovery and development.

That’s the kind of learning experience I’m passionate about promoting, so here’s to another exciting, enriching, and rewarding Summer school ahead at Whitgift—I look forward to being part of it and making a positive impact on the student experience!

See you all in July,

Ryan
