Sixth Form Day Applications
In the Sixth Form, education is individually tailored to each student's needs. Whitgift offers students the opportunity to study either A Levels or the International Baccalaureate Diploma and, currently, for those candidates who are looking to pursue a top tier sporting career, the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business or Sport and Exercise Science is also available. BTEC students will also study one A Level.
The usual entry requirements for A Level or IB candidates are seven GCSEs grade 9-7 with a minimum grade 7 achieved in the subjects they wish to pursue in the Sixth Form (with the exception of Mathematics which requires a grade 8).
For those candidates wishing to study BTEC, entrance test details are available upon request. Please email Admissions on firstname.lastname@example.org
Applicants are invited to visit the school on Open Morning, Open Evening or a Sixth Form Open Afternoon. Open Afternoons are by appointment only. Please click here for further information.
Applications should be submitted from mid-August to mid-October in the year prior to entering the School. These should be accompanied by any scholarship and bursary applications, if applicable. Once an application has been received, a reference will be requested from the student’s current school.
Sixth Form day applicants who are invited to sit the Entrance Examination, which takes place in November, will usually be required to sit tests in two of the subjects chosen for study at A Level or Higher Level International Baccalaureate. Those boys whose first language is not English may also be required to sit an examination in English as an Additional Language (EAL). Candidates who perform well in the Entrance Examination will be interviewed by a member of the Sixth Form Team and offer letters will be sent out in December.
For 2019 entry, the Sixth Form application process is now closed.
