Music
Whitgift offers an outstanding music provision with something for everyone.
Live performance is a priority with numerous concerts taking place on a weekly basis in and outside of the School. A huge range of vocal and instrumental ensembles cater for all abilities and stylistic preferences.
Participation in certain music groups does require students to be able to perform at a certain level but the wide range of opportunities on offer will help musicians of all levels grow their confidence and ability and offer many opportunities to perform throughout the year.

Live Performance
In addition to the School's Concert Hall and Big School, Musicians have the opportunity to experience performing live in leading concert venues; in the past these have included Fairfield Halls, Royal Festival Hall, The Royal Albert and Cadogan Hall. Students are also encouraged to enter in-house competitions which include sections for brass, woodwind, strings, piano and singing.

Our broad music programme offers all First Formers a term of lessons.
In Trinity Term of Lower First Form I chose to start learning the trombone. During First Form I passed grade 1, 2 and 3 and was a finalist in Whitgift’s Strictly Come Brassing. Now I play in the Trombone Ensemble and Brass Sinfonietta.
