Whitgift has a thriving Aquatics programme in which every student can pursue their passion and fulfil their potential. We pride ourselves on our inclusive provision which caters for students ranging from first time swimmers, PE lessons, club swimmers through to elite performance.

The Aquatics programme gives students a wide variety of experiences within this multi-faceted area. Whether through swimming itself, water polo, biathlons, triathlons or within the Modern Pentathlon programme all students have the chance to enjoy the aquatics provision whilst developing integrity, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Swimmers can attend daily morning, lunchtime or after school training sessions throughout and there are three weekly water polo training sessions open to all age groups. We also offer a range of swim classes which are available to first time swimmers and beginners. These prove to be hugely popular and are a great way for students to ensure they develop the necessary life skills needed for water safety.

Whitgift organises numerous intra school swim galas, and external galas for A, B and C swimming teams alongside running U18, U16, U15, U14, U13 and U12 Water Polo teams who compete in both School league and National Competitions. As well as weekly galas against other schools, pupils swim in the London League, London Division and English Schools National competitions. The U18s also compete annually in the Bath Cup and Otter Medley and are the current record holders.

Whitgift is extremely well resourced and has a 25m, 8 lane swimming pool with a variable-depth. We also train at the Crystal Palace 50m pool each week.
