Arrivals & Departures

A member of the Whitgift Summer School team will be in the Arrivals Hall with a big 'WHITGIFT SUMMER SCHOOL' sign, waiting to collect students, offering them a warm and friendly welcome on their arrival to the UK. The member of staff will then travel back to the school with the student (s) and ensure they arrive safely.

On departure day, all students will be accompanied to the airport, or train station, by a member of the Whitgift Summer School team. Our staff will make sure that each student checks-in for their flight and will accompany them to the security gates.

If you have paid for an  Unaccompanied Minor (UM) service with an airline, we are happy to assist you. 

Please send us all the details you require us to complete. Students who have booked the UM  service will be handed over to a representative of the airline carrier and the Whitgift member of staff will remain at the airport until the flight has taken off.  

When you complete the travel form, please upload the confirmation of the UM service you have paid for.

NB: there is no extra charge from Whitgift for the Unaccompanied Minor service for flights landing/taking off within our airport transfer times (09:00 - 18:00) on the specified Sundays. However, for flights outside these times, there is an extra charge from £275 (please see fee table above).  

Alternatively, outside of these hours, students can be collected from the boarding house by: 

1. a parent  
2. a guardian (parental consent along with guardian name, copy of passport and contact details required in advance) 
3. a taxi from either Station Cars or Addison Lee booked by the agent/parent if the student is not travelling as an Unaccompanied Minor (UM). Students over the age of 15 can travel solo in the taxi, if consent has been received from family.
   Students under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a member of summer school staff if this has been requested and will be subject the the above fees.

Parents/guardians need to make their own arrangements for transfers to any other locations. Unfortunately we are unable to support transfers to other airports or train stations other than those listed above.

Parents/guardians wishing to collect their child at school outside of transfer Sundays should inform the admin office at least two weeks in advance as it affects the student’s schedules e.g. lessons, excursions etc.
